- fish. Fish. An aquatic vertebrate animal that lives in water, used for food; in biblical contexts, notably the great fish that swallowed Jonah.
Example: Nao makĩmũhe gĩcunjĩ gĩa kĩũngũyũ kĩhĩhie. (They gave him a piece of baked fish; Acts 10:41.); Kana hihi angĩĩtio kĩũngũyũ, amũne nyamũ-ya-thĩ? (or a snake when he asks for a fish?)
