Welcome to Rũthiomi ("the Service"), a Gĩkũyũ-English dictionary operated by Mũgwanja LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Rũthiomi is a web-based bilingual dictionary providing Gĩkũyũ-English translations, definitions, and linguistic resources. The Service allows users to search the dictionary, browse entries, and contribute suggestions for improvements.

2. User Accounts

To submit suggestions, you must sign in using a third-party authentication provider (e.g., Google). By signing in, you consent to us receiving your name, email address, and profile picture from the authentication provider, as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Intellectual Property — User Contributions

You acknowledge and agree that:

• User Contributions become the sole property of Mũgwanja LLC upon submission.
• You waive any claim of ownership, moral rights, or compensation related to your User Contributions.
• Mũgwanja LLC may use, modify, publish, distribute, or incorporate User Contributions into the dictionary in any manner, without attribution or compensation.
• You represent and warrant that your User Contributions are original, do not infringe the rights of any third party, and that you have the right to make such assignment.

4. Intellectual Property — Service Content

All content on the Service, including dictionary entries, definitions, design, code, and branding, is the property of Mũgwanja LLC and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Service content without our prior written consent.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit content that is false, misleading, offensive, defamatory, or infringing.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service by automated means without permission.

We reserve the right to reject, remove, or modify any User Contribution at our sole discretion, and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. License to Use the Service

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include the right to reproduce or redistribute dictionary content.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Mũgwanja LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to errors in dictionary content.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, all User Contributions previously submitted remain the property of Mũgwanja LLC.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Texas.
