- baptism. The act or sacrament of baptizing; Christian ritual of immersion or sprinkling with water.
Example: Mar 10.38. No rĩrĩ, ndĩ na ũbatithio ndĩĩbatithio naguo; na kũhinyĩrĩrio ndĩĩhinyagĩrĩrio atĩa ũgĩgakinya! (LUK 12:50) — Baptism : i.e., his death. There is a baptism with which I must be baptized, and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished! Mk 10:38–39.
