1. concubine. Concubine. A woman cohabiting with a man in a recognized secondary marriage relationship, having lower status than a wife but legitimate standing in the household.

Example: Nake Maaka, thuriya ya Kalebu, agĩciara Sheberi, na Tirihana; (Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.); O nayo thuriya ĩrĩa aaigĩte Shekemu nĩyamũciarĩire kĩhĩĩ, agagĩtua Abimeleku. (His concubine Concubine : a wife of secondary rank. who lived in Shechem also bore him a son, whom he named Abimelech.)
