mũnyitu
- hard, compact. Hard. Describing soil that is compact, firm, or resistant, making it difficult for plant roots to penetrate or for water to drain properly.
Example: Ũngĩgeria kũgũcia mĩũngũrwa naigũru taarĩ kũmunya, wĩigue nĩ mũnyitu, ũmenye mĩri nĩyanjĩtie gũikĩra. (When you can gently tug on the plant and feel resistance, you'll know roots have formed.); No mũhaka tĩĩri ũkorwo mũriku nĩguo mĩri ĩhote kwĩngĩra handũ haraya. Ndũka hande kahũa handũ harĩ na tĩĩri mũnyitu, na wakorwo no mũhaka, nĩwega kũhaciba. (The soil must be deep, so that the roots can go down deep.
