mũgandĩ
- terebinth, oak tree. Terebinth. A large tree of the genus Pistacia or a similar oak tree; often used as a landmark or meeting place in biblical and traditional contexts.
Example: O ta ũrĩa mũtĩ wa mũgandi ũtandayagia honge ciaguo wega ũbaarĩrĩire, noguo o na niĩ ndariĩ. (“I spread out my branches like a terebinth, my branches so glorious and so graceful.); Nĩ ũndũ mũgatuĩka o ta mũgandi ũrĩa ũhohete mathangũ, o na ta mũgũnda ũrĩa ũtarĩ muunithĩrie maĩ. (You shall become like a terebinth whose leaves wither,)
