Example: Rĩrĩa ndarĩrire, na ngĩĩnyerekia ngoro nĩ kwĩhinga kũrĩa, (Because zeal for your house has consumed me, Zeal for your house has consumed me : the psalmist’s commitment to God’s cause brings only opposition, cf. Jn 2:17. I am scorned by those who scorn you : Rom 15:3 uses the as an example of Jesus’ unselfishness.); [No rĩrĩ, mũthemba ũcio nduumaga na njĩra ĩngĩ, tiga o kũhoya Ngai na kwĩhinga kũrĩa irio.] (] Some manuscripts add, “But this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting”; this is a variant of the better reading of Mk 9:29.)
