- to grasp, to seize. To grasp, seize, or take hold of something or someone. Used for physically grabbing, catching, or holding onto objects or people, often with effort or force.
Example: Mũndũ ahota kũnyiita mũnyaka e mathĩĩnainĩ, na ũndũ wa mũnyaka wahota gũkũreehera mathĩĩna. (There is the misfortune that brings success; and there is the gain that turns into loss.); Mũndũ ũrĩa ũkinyagĩra kĩhooto na hinya atariĩ ta mũndũ mũhakũre ũrĩa wĩriragĩria kũnyiita mũirĩĩtu na hinya. (Like a eunuch lusting to violate a young woman is the one who does right under compulsion.)
