ĩkĩgĩa
- it became, came to be. It became, it came to be. A past tense verb form indicating that something came into existence, happened, or was brought into being.
Example: Ningĩ Biliha, ndungata ĩo ya mũirĩtu ya Rakeli, ĩkĩgĩa ihu rĩngĩ, ĩgĩciarĩra Jakubu kahĩĩ ga itiema. (Rachel’s maidservant Bilhah conceived again and bore a second son for Jacob,); Akĩmũgwata guoko kwa ũrĩo akĩmũũkĩria; na kahinda o kau makinya o na thũng’wa cia magũrũ make ikĩgĩa na hinya. (Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong.)
