agĩrĩirũo
- be worthy, deserve. Be worthy or deserving of something. Used in negative constructions to express unworthiness or lack of qualification for a position, honor, or privilege.
Example: ndiagĩrĩirũo nĩ gũcoka gwĩtagwo mũrũguo: ndua ta ndungata ĩmwe yaku. (I no longer deserve to be called your son; treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.”’); o na nĩkĩo nyonire atĩ ndiagĩrĩirũo nĩ gũũka harĩ we niĩ mwene; no kiuge kiugo, nayo ndungata yakwa nĩĩkũhona. (Therefore, I did not consider myself worthy to come to you; but say the word and let my servant be healed.)
